Update from My Foster Family:
Orson is my 2nd foster dog, and I just LOVE him! He obviously has a
brain and it amazes me. Orson is deaf and blind. You would think
of a deaf/blind dog normally sitting in one position all day and afraid to
move. This is not the case with my buddy Orson. He runs like he
can see. He runs so well back and forth you almost start to think "He
can see!!" Then that's when the wall or the chair jumps out in front
of him and CRASH! - "Nope, he's blind!" I am not sure how much he can
hear, but its enough loss that when I get home, he is still sleeping and I
have to wake him.
So, I already told you he is smart, because he
engraved the floor plan of my house into his brain...but...Orson is soooooo
smart, he gets to Petsmart Special Needs Doggy Training and so far he has
learned to sit, lay down, come and settle all by tactile (touch)
communication. He is still learning to sit-stay, wait and he does
pretty good with leave it. Now considering all this...don't you just
wish most people could train their kids that well?
Orson is house trained with a doggy door, and I
think that a doggy door is essential for Orson. He does well alone or
with other dogs. he also gets along with people and this 50 pound dog
thinks he is a 10 pound lap dog. He is a real cuddler
