News From Foster Family:
Murphy is a beautiful boy that weighs about 55 lbs.  He does have a heavy coat and will need weekly brushing to maintain his coat.  He is deaf but has no vision issues.  Murphy gets along well with all of his foster home doggie companions and absolutely loves people.  However he does not jump up on people, preferring to have you rub his belly.

Murphy does find the pond refreshing and will go for a swim when he gets the opportunity.  He has not tried to get into the pool.
He would enjoy going for a swim at the lake, river, or ocean.

Murphy is crate trained, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

My Ideal Companions:
Loving humans that want to snuggle and spend quality time with him.

My Perfect Home:
Murphy would do well with an active and loving home.  He loves to go places and ride in the car.  Murphy is a snuggler and would be a great candidate for a therapy dog.

Rescue History:

Murphy came to us from a county shelter in Idaho.   The chances of him finding an appropriate home there was not good, and since the shelter manager thought he was such an awesome boy, she contacted us to see if we could help.  Fortunately for Murphy, we had an already approved foster home in Boise that was more than willing to foster him until we could arrange transport to Phoenix.  During his stay there, he lived with a huge mastiff, a sweet pit bull, and 2 young children.  He also had kitty exposure.  He did great with the whole family.  With the help of several volunteer drivers, we were able to bring Murphy to Phoenix along with Nike from the Salt Lake City Human Society.
