News From Foster Family:
4/18 - Keely is doing great. She's grown like crazy
and gained 4 lbs!! Her eyesight is pretty good considering. She sees
really well in sunlight and is starting to be able to follow and track
the other dogs. She's trying to follow them thru the dog door so it's
only a matter of time before she's big enough to do that -- poor Gunnar,
there goes his escape route!
Keely wakes up 3 times a night to potty -- never any
accidents at night. She's had a few in the house but mostly when she's
been running around and I don't get her out fast enough. She definitely
has the idea that she's supposed to potty outside.
Keely has a ton of personality. She has a temper if
she doesn't get what she wants (the Catahoula in her??) but most of the
time is just a happy girl (the Aussie in her??). When she tries to play
with our dogs and they're not in the mood, she just moves on to the next
one or amuses herself. She loves toys and shoes and usually piles them
altogether on one of the dog beds. She doesn't really chew on the
shoes, just likes to sleep on them. She's not as mouthy as when we
first got her but she definitely has sharp baby teeth and needs
reminding as to what she's allowed to chew on! She gets along great
with my boss's 5 month old Golden Retriever, who is also in my office
right now resting after Keely spent 1/2 an hour beating him up over
lunch today!
