News From My Foster Family:

Dozer is now about 11 months old.  He is house trained and gets along really well with other dogs.  Dozer is curious about what cats are, but mostly because he is trying to figure out why it is OK for them to sit on the table and not him.  Dozer loves to play and still has a lot of puppy in him.  He is currently fostered with 3 other dogs, and 4 cats.  Jason, one of the other dogs, is completely deaf and blind, and loves to play with Dozer.  When Jason gets a little too rough Dozer lets him know that he needs to stop.  Dozer knows the voice and sign commands for sit, down, wait and leave it.  He also waits his turn at meal time, and treat time.  Dozer is happy to stay at home with his 4 legged companions while foster mom works during the day, but he is curious and will sometimes chew things left within his reach.  Dozer's previous foster home had a swimming pool and though Dozer likes to drink out of it, he has not yet learned to swim.  Dozer is current on all his shots, and has been neutered.

My Ideal Companions:

Dozer loves people and doggy companions. He would do well in a home with another active dog or two to play with. He still has some puppy behaviors, so a friendly dog who loves to play and doesn't mind being "dozed" once and a while would be perfect.  Dozer would also be OK with a tolerant cat that doesn't mind the occasional dog kiss.

My Perfect Home:

Dozer would do well in any home, though he may be too rambunctious for younger children.  He would love to have a family that liked to go for walks or to the dog park to play.  A dog door would be ideal if he was home alone or with other dog companions during the day, but would be OK if he had is own room to stay in.

Rescue History:

Dozer was found running loose with tags. When his former family was called, they stated they had given him away and did not want him back.
