News from My Foster Family:
Banjo is about a year old, totally deaf and sight
impaired, although his family believes his eyesight has improved with age.
He has had all his shots and has been neutered. Banjo is a very beautiful
dog with a very soft coat.
He is crate trained. Actually we leave his crate door open and he likes to
sit in there and sleep in there. We haven't taken him in the car much
because of the Summer heat, but when he has been in the car he has been
pretty good. He uses the doggy door and has never has an accident in the
house. He is a very fast learner, especially if food is involved.
He knows hand signals. Sit, Stay, Come, Lie Down, Shake. He absolutely loves
people and dogs and has grown up with a six year old. Banjo likes to play
with him but he does exhibit herding behavior, so when the six year old's
little friends are over we keep Banjo out of the way just in case he gets a
little too excited.

My Ideal
Companions:
Banjo would love a home with a fun doggy companion
or two who like to play with him all the time! Banjo loves to run around
the edge of the pool and sometimes ventures on the first step for a
drink and that's about it. He is not a water dog at all... He loves
chasing his doggy sister, Emma, around the back yard but she does not
like to play with him, and she bites at him to make him go away.
Banjo also has a bird at his house and he does not bother the bird.
Because of his wonderful personality, we think he might also be good
with cats. I don't think he is the type to attack anyway, he just loves
to play and lap up as much attention as he can get.

My Perfect Home:
When we say hello to him in the morning he is very
vocal and wiggly he whines and howls like he is talking to you. He
really is a sweet thing and just wants to lean up against you and be
where you are. Sometimes, if I'm walking around he likes to walk in
between my legs. If I walk forwards he walks forwards. If I walk
backwards, he walks back in perfect timing... If I'm at my desk he is
always by my feet.

Rescue History:
Banjo was adopted from the Animal Care and Control on
the West side in February, 2005. He came in as a stray.
